Flower

This series of flower portraits and floral patterns is an ongoing photographic exploration into some of the UK’s best-known botanicals. From the varied form of the Summer Dahlia to the Winter joy of a glorious Amaryllis, it is the intricacies and tiny details of such flowers that captivate me. Their vibrant colours are a testament to the infinite palette of nature.

I never fail to be mesmerised by a new discovery, whether it be a tiny flower flourishing along our coastline or a more structured bloom in one of our acclaimed UK parks and gardens. In the interests of preserving and increasing biodiversity, how wonderful it is to see nature allowed to take over around us. Today we find parks and open areas less manicured, with plants and wildflowers able to thrive across the countryside and our urban areas. This brings much photographic opportunity and delight.

 Magnolia

All but one of these Magnolia tree portraits were taken in the Valley Garden, Windsor Great Park, Berkshire. This collection of Magnolia’s is broad and captivating, indeed mesmerising. It would be difficult to find greater joy than a walk amongst these stunning trees in the early spring months.
