The Queen’s Flowers
Like so many I was overwhelmed by the sense of loss to our nation when Queen Elizabeth II died in September 2022. I was one of thousands who queued along the south bank of the Thames to pay my respects before her funeral.
In the days that followed, the public continued to pay tribute to our Queen across the parks of the four nations that make up the United Kingdom. I visited Green Park in London several times, witnessing the unprecedented volume of flowers and messages left for her, many of them with notes of personal thanks, showing true gratitude. These five images are my favourites amongst the many photographs I shot.
